Family Physician Oncology Network

Family physicians are an integral link in providing cancer patients with current, accessible and responsive information and care. The Provincial Family Physician Initiative, launched in September 2005, aims to support a strategic and collaborative relationship between the Alberta Cancer Board and family physicians across Alberta. 

With the help of a multi-partner steering committee including Calgary Health Region, Capital Health, the Alberta College of Family Physicians, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta , and the Alberta Cancer Board, we've been working to improve communication and collaboration between family physicians and the Alberta Cancer Board.
