Cancer Patient Navigation Program

When you or a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer, the last thing you need is stress trying to find your way through the complex health care system.

The Alberta Provincial Cancer Patient Navigator Program is a  network of trained cancer patient navigators across Alberta (see Map) who:
  • Work with patients and their families on a one-on-one basis to help them "navigate" the cancer care system;
  • Support patients in making informed decisions by ensuring they understand their diagnosis and treatment options;
  • Assist with coordination of care; and
  • Provide emotional and practical support for cancer patients.

The focus of this program is coordinated, seamless, patient-centered care for Albertans as close to home as possible.
